I frequently fly into Memphis. Since there aren't very many options here, this is one of the stops I go to occasionally. It's decent enough food for an airport. Just expect to wait a bit both for service and your food as they do take a while for reasons I can't seem to figure out.

Located in the Delta Terminal of the Memphis International Airport. From the decor on the outside I was hoping to have a great food experience before my flight out. The place wasn't crowded when I came in for dinner. The bartender greeted me as I sat at a table. She was very friendly and took my order.
The restaurant has plenty of memorabilia from the Elvis area. Large eating area and very clean.
We had the wings which were in a spicy sauce. Sadly my family member couldn't finish it due to the spiciness. My wife had the pulled pork (you have to when you are in Memphis) which was okay. I had the BBQ hamburger which I thought would be a safe order but wasn't. BBQ sauce was good but the meat was questionable as it was dry and tasted like cardboard. I had a flight to catch and there was no time to return the order
I had ordered sweet tea as well but got unsweetened tea. I informed the bartender who got me a glass of sweetened tea quickly.
If it wasn't for the courteous and friendly bartender, I would have rated this place lower. Expensive prices - if the quality of the food were better maybe it would be justifiable.
I travel to Memphis frequently and it is safe to say that I will not be coming back to this place (unless I need an adult beverage before my flight). I'll go with the sub sandwich place a few doors down and try them next time. -

I've eaten @ Sun City Cafe several times when it was close to my Gate ~ it will never be referred to as "Friendly City Cafe," for sure. But I'm done, because it has never improved.
I wander in & no one greets or acknowledges me. By now I've learned to find a seat & hail whoever comes through the back door next. Eventually one will approach my table. From there it continues to be a S.L.O.W. experience.
Do not come here unless you have @ least 1 hour to eat. & With that amount of time, you would be better off going to *another Terminal.
They push the BBQ, I suppose, because it's cooked & ready to assemble. Anything else takes forever & is microwaved ~ & the order is frequently inaccurate. (Hint:: There is REAL BBQ in *another Terminal.) -

One of the few restaurants in Memphis airport it does have plenty of room for groups or families waiting on planes. The service is weird though: The servers are nice, but seem to disappear for long periods of time, probably putting food or drinks together, but it is very, very slow. The food is very average and tending toward the greasy spoon diner side which is filling but tends to upset the digestion later unless you eat this kind of food a lot.
They will leave you to work while you wait which is nice if you are traveling for business. -

Fantastic atmosphere. Very authentic Memphis.
The food is above average for airport food, great service every time I've been here.
No alcohol until 10, which is a state law, so forget about grabbing a mimosa with breakfast, but if you're here for lunch, the bar is full service and can serve up whatever you can imagine.
Recommended if you got some time before your flight.
